A just and healthy global economy will ultimately be rooted in a world-wide structure of wages that are high enough to support strong domestic demand, a closer balance of power between capital and labor, and more equal distributions of income and wealth. The need for environmentalists to make common cause with others concerned about global justice and peace has thus become a most urgent task.
