Making Salmon

Written by Joseph E. Taylor

Americans have made tremendous improvements to the standard of living during the last 150 years, but progress has come at an increasingly dear cost to nature and people. Resource depletion, habitat destruction, species extinction, pollution, and poverty are not aberations of this progress but its intrinsic products. Such insights underscore an unsettling reality: the American Dream has collided with the material limits of nature.
