The Animal's Agenda

Written by Marac Bekof and Jessica Pierce

The Anthropocene , created by humans, usurps the entire planet and its resources for one species, Homo sapiens, yet science tells us that all living beings have some degree of sentience.  animals have feelings, fears, emotional needs; experience love, joy and compassion.  As a species, humans commit atrocities against animals on a massive and monstrous scale, the most egregious of which occur in confined animal feeding operations.  Bekoff and Pierce detail the abuses perpetrated against our fellow Earth-citizens on farms, in labs, in zoos and as pets.  The authors argue for freedom, compassion and coexistence our fellow species in the Human Age.
